This course is designed to empower dental assistants and front office staff to take information their Kois-trained dentists have learned at the Kois Center and successfully implement it in their daily practice. The course reviews Kois principles and discusses the ‘why’ behind them. Dental assistants and front office staff will examine fundamentals of clinical photography and the differences between analog and digital dental casts and mounting protocols. The course concludes by reviewing best practices to implement in the dental office to provide an efficient and effective workflow.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Introduction to the philosophy of the Kois systems: what is your practice identity and what client experience do you strive to provide.
  2. Preclinical protocol and how to prepare before a new patient enters your practice.
  3. Clinical protocol for the initial appointment, including the comprehensive exam.
  4. Clinical photography fundamentals, proper setup, and how to perform the clinical photography series.
  5. Review of occlusion and diagnostic impressions.
  6. Fundamentals of intraoral scanning.
  7. Creation and management of stone-mounted and printed dental casts.
  8. Disinfection and sterilization.
  9. Best practices on end-of-day protocols and how to prepare for the next day.
  10. Best practices for technology in the dental office.
