Every year the Annual Kois Center Symposium opens with the traditional Welcome Reception. This is an opportunity to catch up with fellow Kois Members and friends, and a chance for your family to meet their program leaders for the weekend. The reception features Northwest beer and wine, hors d’oeuvres, and a slide show featuring highlights from last year’s meeting.

Molten Works Glass Studio
We will learn fusing; a technique of joining two or more pieces of glass by heat in a kiln. Not to worry instruction on how to use tools and glass materials will be given Fusing requires a special type of glass, which is heated until it becomes molten. Fused glass art can be any number of things: from slumped bowls and platters, jewelry, to printed imagery. A light continental breakfast will be made available at the studio.

Starbucks SODO Roastery Experience
SODO means south of downtown, past Pioneer Square. This Reserve store is open to the public on the main floor of Starbucks Headquarters (Starbucks Support Center.) The Reserve Store takes the best of coffee craft as well as artisan baking and layers it into a market style for a customer experience. Our personal baristas -will lead us in tasting of Starbucks coffee “flight experience. Origin experiences are three places that the Starbucks coffee originates from. from.” We will be tasting three coffees on their origin flight, as well as, pairing with Princi bakery. The barista will go in depth in the coffee history and stories as well as demonstrate their brewing methods. A light continental breakfast will be served.
We will return to the Hyatt for lunch. The “Goddess Network” returns! I have arranged for the regional directors of Trish McAvoy makeup and skin care to do makeovers. Remember Friday is our party night!

Sun, Fun and Laughter Aboard the Yacht Excellence
